Be Merry!

Instructions

• This happy little card can be used for a simple greeting, or is perfect for a thank-you note or gift tag.
• Here are the measurements for the papers we'll be using on this card:
  • #161-01 Long Cards - Holly Berry Red: 4 1/4 x 2 3/4" (half a postcard)
  • #161-17 Long Cards - Citrus Green: 1 x 2"
  • #161-32 Long Cards - Ivy Green: 4 1/4 x 2 3/4" (half a postcard)
  • CS303 Cream Cardstock: two lil' pieces we'll cut later
• First we'll stamp and punch the Ivy Green backing card, so it's ready for the small red card. Stamp 3 little Sassy Hearts in Citrus Lime Designer Ink along the bottom edge of the card towards the right (note sample).
• Punch a 1/4" hole at the top of the Ivy Green card, and thread the length of gold cord through the hole. Set this card aside for now.
• On the small piece of Citrus Green cardstock, stamp (on the smooth side of the paper) "Celebrate the Season" in Holly Berry Red, and set aside.
• Stamp the Holly Berry Red Cardstock with Jolly Dots/Snowfall in Holly Berry Red Ink. Fold the rectangle in half (two segments of 2 x 2 3/4") with the Dots on the front.
• Punch a 1/4" hole at the top left corner of the front of the card (the top corner closest to the fold). Set this aside.
• Now we're going to make our own mini-tags for the front of the card. Stamp the Holiday Trio in Granite Gray on Cream Cardstock. Color in the little gift with a watercolor brush, Citrus Green Designer Ink and Holly Berry Red Designer Ink or watercolor pencils (note sample).
• Cut* the little gift into a tag - cut it into a rectangle, and snip the top of the rectangle into a flat triangle shape and punch a 1/8" hole at the top, as shown below: (*or there is also an easy punch tool available in this tag shape by EK Success)
  • Stamp Holiday Trio
    
  • Color gift with watercolor brush and Designer Inks
    
  • Cut into a rectangle.
    
  • Snip top of rectangle into a tag and punch 1/8" hole
    
• After you've snipped and punched the tag, you can add more color with a sponge, by tapping the sponge onto the Citrus Green Ink Pad and then brushing it lightly onto the edges of your new mini tag.
• Repeat the above steps to make a mini-tag with the "Be Merry" stamp. Stamp the words with Granite Gray Ink, and color in the tiny heart with a red watercolor pencil.
• Thread the length of Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon through the hole in the corner of the red card and tie a single knot. Now thread the two mini-tags and tie again. Last, lay the length of the Green Grosgrain Ribbon across the Red Striped Ribbon and tie a knot (it's easier to tie the knot at this point if you twist the ribbon, so it's thinner).
• Attach the "Celebrate the Season" rectangle to the inside of the red card as shown. Punch of 1/8" hole in the card and set a red heart eyelet, again as shown.
• Attach the finished red card to the Ivy Green back card as shown.
• You're finished! Attach this card to a gift, or send it by itself as a thank-you note or a simple holiday greeting.
