Instructions

  • Argh, me matey! Are ye thinkin' of havin' a party! Ay! Here's a great invite for big pirates and lil' swashbucklers alike!
  • Here is the list of papers you'll need:
    • #161-23 Long Cards - Wisteria: don't cut this yet
    • #161-24 Long Cards - Oak Brown: don't cut this quite yet
    • #161-31 Long Cards - Terra Cotta: 4 1/4 x 6 1/4"
    • DV511 - Frost White Vellum - don't cut this yet
    • Xerox paper to make copy of dictionary page
  • Stamp "Party" and the Swashbuckler in Granite Gray Designer Ink on Frost White Vellum, as shown. Stamp "Party" again in Very Black Outliner Ink, almost - but not quite - on top of the "Party" you stamped in Granite Grey. This will give the letters a more dimensional affect. Put the vellum aside, as ink stamped on vellum takes longer to dry.
  • Stamp "Avast There..." and "Date Time Place" in Very Black Outliner Ink on Wisteria cardstock. Cut them out in rectangles (note sample) and put aside.
  • Stamp "Down for the Count" in Very Black Outliner Ink on Oak Brown cardstock. Cut out the numbers for the date and time of your party into small rectangles, and edge these little paper rectangles with the Very Black Outliner Ink Stamp Pad. Cut out random leftover numbers (you can leave multiple numbers in blocks) and give them the same treatment.
  • Make a photocopy of a dictionary page with the definition of "Treasure" and blow it up so it's easily readable (or click here to download and print the definition that we used - or you can click the link at the top of the page that says "Print this Project!" - the definition is printed there also). Stamp "Down for the Count" in Granite Gray over the words, and then tear out a general shape (note sample).
  • Fold your Terra Cotta rectangle into two halves, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4". Attach the dictionary page you stamped over in step 6 to the top inside panel of the card.
  • Stamp the Swashbuckler in Granite Gray at the lower right-hand corner of the inside of the card.
  • Attach the rest of the inside pieces as shown (you'll need to write in whether the time for your party is a.m. or p.m.). To add texture, stamp lines with the edge of the Very Black Outliner Ink Pad or Spot, to write the information on.
  • Check to see if the ink has dried on the vellum that you stamped in Step 3. If it's dry, tear the vellum into an interesting shape, and attach with a very small bit of gluestick (on the underside of the "Party" and the Swashbuckler so the glue isn't as evident) to the front of the card.
  • Attach "Avast there..." that you stamped in Step 4 and the numbers that you stamped in Step 5 to the front of the card (note sample).
  • Add texture by crumpling the edges of the vellum on the front and then brushing the crumpled edges with the Granite Gray Designer Ink Stamp pad.
  • Arrggh! Now you're ready to invite some mateys to a pirate party!
